Does it have interviews?
Contests for readers?
Film reviews?

Also, consider comparing two film magazines (different from one another) how are they the same and how do they differ?

Make sure as your going along that you are keeping a list of all your secondary resources, a how to reference is on the main page of the Lower Media blogger. 

The purpose of my research is to find out information from the internet regarding film magazines. The reason I'm using secondary data is because it is cheaper searching on the internet than going out and buying a magazine myself. As I look at different magazines I will understand what is different about each one, and what genre of movie they will review.

The cover of the empire magazine will vary on what film review it's based on. The cover looks very intriguing as at the top of the magazine it tells the reader that it is "the world's biggest movie magazine."This tells me that it has a lot of information to reveal in it.The cover of the book features the name of the magazine(empire), which states who's it published by. The published date(November 2011), which states when the magazine was published. The content states whats inside of the magazine (films, interviews, etc) and the famous figures posing for the photo. It does not have a centre page spread. It does include an interview with Spielberg. It does not include a contest for readers. It does include film reviews shown with big bold letters on the left hand side of the magazine, "THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO." This film is a psychological thriller novel which explains the dark mysterious cover photo for the magazine.

The cover of this empire magazine looks captivating as it has a very heroic look with Robert downey jr staring into the readers eyes, making the cover look more intriguing, which catches the attention of the reader. The cover of the magazine features the name of the magazine (empire), the published date(April 2013), the content and the famous figure posing for the photo. It does not have a centre page spread. It does not include an interview. It does not include a contest for readers. It does include film review of the film iron man 3 which explains the bold, fearless image of Robert downey jr posing as iron man creating a sense of action to the magazine. Furthermore in the cover it gives the reader an exclusive to a new upcoming film "fast & furious 6" by giving the reader an on set for jack Ryan.


These two magazines are similar in their appearance and some of their features told in the cover. Both do have contents of what will be inside the magazine. Both do state that there is a film review inside. Both do have known actors posing/standing out for the magazine which brings out the type of genre that this magazine might be about and also that it ain't just any film in the world. Both are published by one of the main company that produces magazines, "EMPIRE" which gives it more of an importance/relevancy to it as it is a British film magazine published monthly. Both empire magazines state that its "the world's biggest movie magazine" which signifys how privileged it is to be on the cover.

However these magazines are different in many ways. Both magazines show different figures, due to its different themes. The first magazine gives it a thriller look, while the second magazine shows a more action packed look. There is also different information that will be inside the magazine due to the different headlines/points in the cover. Also the first magazine looks like it has more information in the magazine by having more points in the cover page.

In conclusion, both empire magazines are very captivating towards the reader as it stands out towards the reader no matter what genre it is, if it's action or thriller, it makes the reader intrigued to go and read it.
